Resume / Portfolio

Nicholas Labrecque

Software engineer focused on protocol systems, developer tooling, and interaction-heavy frontends.

I build products that sit at the intersection of engineering depth and usable interfaces, from Solana protocol work and cross-chain systems to AI experiments and polished Angular applications.

About

Engineering with product sensibility

My work sits at the intersection of systems and usability. blockchain infrastructure, internal tooling, and interactive web products that need to be both technically sound and easy to reason about. I tend to gravitate toward problems where complexity is unavoidable, but the interface doesn’t have to reflect that. Whether it’s protocol-level work or front-end systems, the goal is the same: make things behave predictably and communicate clearly.

Working Principles

  • Engineer for clarity first, then layer in novelty where it adds real value.
  • Prefer explicit systems and predictable tooling over convenience that hides behavior.
  • Bridge product thinking and implementation so polished interfaces still hold up technically.
Experience

Selected roles and project eras

2025 - PresentWire Outpost / Wire ecosystem

Blockchain / Protocol Engineer

Working on Solana-side staking infrastructure and participation flows inside a broader multi-chain product architecture.

  • Built and iterated on Solana capital-staking program behavior inside a four-person team
  • Coordinated protocol decisions across Solana, Ethereum, and an EOSIO-derived ecosystem
  • Focused on workflow integration, program logic, and production-minded blockchain engineering
2025 - PresentPersonal products and portfolio work

Independent Product & Frontend Engineer

Designing and shipping frontend-heavy products and developer experiences with Angular, TypeScript, SCSS, and interaction-driven UI systems.

  • Built SVG Animator as a browser-based creative tool for visual SVG workflows
  • Designed this resume site as a statically generated portfolio with a custom inventory interaction model
  • Focused on interfaces that are memorable without sacrificing clarity or maintainability
2023 - 2024SophiaVerse and Yuga-aligned experimental work

Systems / AI Engineer

Worked on AI companion and AI-NPC systems that combined real-time interaction, persistent state, and blockchain-backed identity.

  • Built around voice pipelines, microservices, real-time AI behavior, and game-facing systems
  • Explored persistent identity and ownership models across AI experiences
  • Delivered prototypes that connected product experimentation with deeper systems work
2022 - 2025UPAP and Solana CLI infrastructure

Protocol / Tooling Engineer

Built interoperability and developer-tooling systems across blockchain products, with emphasis on explicit behavior and low operational friction.

  • Developed cross-chain protocol architecture for asset interaction and address abstraction
  • Built focused CLI workflows for Solana Squads multisig operations and program upgrades
  • Shipped tooling aimed at reliability, transparency, and developer usability

Let’s talk about the right role fit

I’m most interested in roles where engineering depth and product quality both matter: protocol work, internal tools, frontend systems, or full-stack products with real complexity underneath.
